- "Shellye demonstrates a personal integrity , professionalism, and maturity
well beyond her years. She is a "team player" who values the collaborative
model when working with school staff, agencies, and other professionals.
She brings a wealth of training and skills to the counseling arena that will
not only enhance the lives of students and their families, but teachers, the
school environment, and our community as well." - School Psychologist
- "Shellye's expertise in helping students with contemporary issues such as
teen pregnancy, domestic violence, drug abuse, HIV education, anger
management, suicide prevention / intervention, and strategies for reducing
gang affiliation will make her an excellent resource for your school
program." - School Principal
- "For two years I was Shellye's supervisor in my capacity of District
Superintendent. During that period of time Shellye accomplished and
performed well beyond what was expected of whomever was to be hired in her
position. She created and administered the entire counseling program at our
schools and successfully sought and obtained grant money for our primary
site. Her work ethic is phenomenal. She is precise, accurate, articulate,
and always finishes what she starts - almost always ahead of schedule. She
is open to suggestion, thinks out problems before reacting, and communicates
with great skill." - School Superintendent
- "Shellye has a talent for developing relationships based on equality, respect and mutual exchange, whether they be with clients or peers... she is firmly grounded in collaborative perspectives and techniques; she is truly a bridge builder, and this approach and style is desperately needed in our schools - among teachers and administrators, schools and communities, as well as among students." - Social Work Professor
- "It was because of Shellye that the Peer Assistance Team became a reality at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts." - High School Counselor
- "The students, staff and parents have really enjoyed Shellye's relaxed, yet well-planned presentations. - Shellye is comfortable working with classroom-sized groups of students as well as with small groups and individuals... she develops good rapport with the students and is well-liked by them. Having Shellye work with us has been a very positive experience... her skills and positive attitude are highly valued in a junior high!" - School Counselor
- I can say unequivocally that Shellye is one of the most outstanding young women I have had the privilege of knowing and working with... Shellye put together a peer counseling program and trained twelve college students to do peer counseling in our church and in local schools... she is a very effective public speaker, works well with all ages and is a skilled peer counselor." - Church Pastor
- Shellye is a person of tremendous drive, unfailing energy and enthusiasm, integrity, and altruism. I have observed her in a variety of settings and am continually amazed at her communication abilities, warmth, strength of character and intelligence." - Education Professor
