The Act-Up List I used to have here is no longer active. There are now several Act-Up lists and I still need to decide which one/ones to add to this page. If you have any suggestions please let me know and why you recommend any particular Act-Up Mailing List. Thank you, Marty

HIV-SUPPORT: A discussion list for BOTH emotional and support AND sharing medical information for people living with HIV or AIDS.

NOTE: This is one of the lists that was hosted by Michael Davon at Web-Depot.com. Now that Michael has passed away his lists have been taken over by Todd at Boygenius.com.

Here are some guidelines for the list.

Feel free to share experiences, feelings, opinions, and knowledge in a compassionate and supportive way.

The assumption is that HIV causes AIDS.

No advertisements, please.

Respect each other. No blaming the victim or telling people they'll die if they don't follow your treatment ideas.

GAYPOZ and GAYPOZ-DIGEST

GAYPOZ is an internet discussion list for BOTH emotional support AND sharing medical information for GAY MEN WHO ARE HIV POSITIVE.

Although HIV/AIDS affects people throughout society, some gay men living with HIV feel more comfortable discussing certain issues in a strictly HIV+ gay male environment. This list trys to provide a safe place for this.

GAYPOZ is a CLOSED list, and all subscribers must be approved by the maintainer. Anyone who wishes to subscribe must first fill in the form on the GayPoz WebSite.

The "DIGEST" form of each group means you get a single compilation of all the days mail in one e-mail at the end of the day instead of receiving them on an individual basis as they are generated during the day.

Ben's CareGivers Support Group and Treatments Mailing Lists

For AIDS CareGivers - A special place to air your needs and feelings, apart from those you love and care for..

The purpose of this list is to support one another in the pressures and problems that come along with giving care to people with AIDS, in the difficult times that come after a death, and in the cumulative grief that may build up after more than one death.

For AIDS Treatments - Discussion of AIDS-related and HIV-related treatments is the purpose of this list. Membership in the list gives the right and privilege of posting in the spirit of sharing personal experiences.

Some restrictions and guidelines for both lists...

• The total list of members will not be revealed to anyone.
• The list manager reserves the right to delete any submission that may be illegal, destructive or hurtful.
• Name-calling and abusive language will not be permitted.
• Name-calling, etc. is "retroactive." When first noticed it will initiate a warning, a second time will result in loss of posting privileges.
• There will be no selling or controversy, however anecdotes about remedies are welcome.

SEA-AIDS

• - people living with HIV or AIDS
• - those working in government ministries, non-governmental and community-based organizations, and other national or international organizations
• - representatives of the business sector
• - academic researchers.

SEA-AIDSLink - a simple and direct way to share experiences and information using an electronic mail network - all you have to do is send your electronic mail messages to the SEA-AIDS computer and they will be distributed to all colleagues throughout the region who have also joined the group.

SEA-AIDSFiles - you can also get information and materials on HIV/AIDS in South East Asia by using simple e-mail commands.

SEA-AIDSFlash - as a member of the group you will automatically receive this bi-weekly news digest on HIV and AIDS from the region, which includes information about new documents, news items and forthcoming conferences or training in the region. The first issue of AIDSFlash, to be distributed on 1 February 1996, will include a description of the South East Asia HIV/AIDS Project and its planned activities.

AIDS and AIDS-Digest - Revised 08/24/2000

AIDS and AIDS Digest is a service of AEGIS - Aids Education Global Information System. AEGIS is one of the most up to date information services available today, and I suspect that the AIDS and AIDS Digest mailing lists will bring you very up to date information also. The AIDS mailing list brings you each post as it is received while the DIGEST sends them all to you in one big e-mail at the end of the day.

PrisonPoz

PrisonPoz includes activists, prisoners, AIDS service organization staff, lawyers and others interested in progressive change on the issue of HIV and hepatitis in prisons.
