Not quite "mainstream" thinking - However, relevant and interesting.

Some Alternative Ideas about HIV/AIDS

There are times you need to take what you read on the sites these links point to with a grain of salt. There are times you need the whole salt shaker!! Marty

|An Acupuncture Page. This is not strictly an HIV/AIDS-Acupuncture page.|
|BASTYR University's AIDS Research Center - Established in October 1994 under a grant from NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease and the Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM).
Mission:
Describe forms and patterns of use of alternative medicine for the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
Screen and evaluate therapies from the five OAM program areas of alternative medicine.
Provide consultation and support to the medical and research community in the scientific evaluation of alternative therapies..|
|ChronicIllNet's AIDS Page. Be sure to follow their link to the ChronicIllNet Lobby as they have many interesting Sub-Pages you can get to from there. This page is written in an activist format and may not have the scientific documentation you might expect to find in some areas. It is, however, a very interesting page.|
|Institute for Traditional Medicine - The Institute for Traditional Medicine (ITM) provides education, conducts research, and offers therapeutic programs with a focus on natural healing techniques, such as herbal formulas, acupuncture, massage, diet, nutrition, and general health care. ITM is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization. The primary focus of its efforts is the training of health professionals so that they are better able to provide effective and safe natural healing methods. ITM also helps direct people seeking such health care to the best resources. The organization has made a major contribution to the development of Chinese herbal medicine in the West, and it also has divisions of Tibetan medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, and Naturopathic medicine.|
|The Immune System - includes HIV, AIDS and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This is truly a page of alternative thinking. It includes links to articles by or on Gallo, Duesberg, Strecker, Aids as a Weapon of War, etc.|
|Kombucha Information - This is a very difficult site to read if you use the site's colors. Much of it is black text on a dark green background making it almost impossible to see. Use your browser's options to change the background to white or grey.|
|Life Extension Foundation - dedicated to the pursuit of a longer, healthier lifespan.|
|Medibolics - Progressive information about advanced nutrition, the therapeutic use of anabolic steroids and other similar compounds, and various "unapproved" pharmaceuticals - There is information on their site + they publish a newsletter.|
|Rethinking AIDS WebSite (What you will read here is, in my opinion, quite bizarre. Be careful! Marty) - "Is the AIDS virus harmless? Is AIDS not contagious? Are the AIDS tests worthless? Is AIDS medication killing patients? Find out what the AIDS establishment and media do not want you to know......"
|A Short Introduction to Smart Drugs - A page on alternative medications..interesting reading.|
|The Yoga Group, Inc. - A Colorado non-profit organization providing free Yoga classes since 1988 to persons living with HIV/AIDS, and helping other Yoga teachers start similar programs. - Note: they have programs/classes in other states, not just Colorado.|
